OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has asked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation's help in locating the gunman who killed two young girls near Weleetka in 2008, according to Clay Simmonds, an FBI spokesman in Oklahoma City.

Simmonds said the OSBI has sent profile data to the FBI behavioral analysis unit in Quantico, Virginia concerning the investigation into the shooting deaths of 13-year-old Taylor Paschal-Placker and 11-year-old Skyla Whitaker.

Paschal-Placker and Whitaker were found shot to death in a ditch along County Line Road in Okfuskee County on June 8, 2008. It was a double murder that shocked the state and the nation and remains unsolved.

Simmonds said many factors will determine how long the process will take, including how high profile the case is.

OSBI investigators said they have reason to believe the killer may still be in the area where the killings took place, according to Simmonds.
