OKLAHOMA CITY -- Rising star Greyson Chance rocked the stage at Science Museum Oklahoma to kick off Gov.-elect Mary Fallin's inaugural events.

The Edmond native said his life has been a big rollercoaster but he likes rollercoasters so he's having fun. And the fun didn't stop when Chance sang for hundreds of Oklahomans for the first pre-inaugural performance at the science museum Saturday afternoon.

"I'm just really excited to be back and support the inaugural of Mary Fallin and I hope I said that right inaugural," Chance laughed before the performance.

He may have the status of a shining star but his words are as honest as the music he shares with the world.

"I want people to feel like they just watched a real show and something that you know, I try to get the message out that I'm real and the music that I'm writing and creating comes from me," the young musician said.

Chance said he couldn't wait for his very first meeting with the first woman governor of Oklahoma.

"It's so cool I can say I'm going to meet the governor, haha. So I'm very excited," he said.

The excitement was shared by the Governor-elect Mary Fallin after watching the 13-year-old pop star on the piano.

"I said ‘You're incredible, absolutely incredibly,'" Fallin said. "The things we wanted to do in this inauguration was to highlight great Oklahomans. To show all of Oklahoma, especially our young children in this family event that you can be anything you want to be if you work hard persevere and you dream really really big dreams."

The Governor-elect told Greyson Chance "We wanted you because you're an Oklahoman. You're an inspiration to all the other children that are here today."

"It's such a great honor and such a great event to be here," Chance said. "It's always one I'll remember."

The rising star is heading back to L.A. first thing Sunday morning to continue rehearsals for his tour starting at the end of the month.

Fallin will be sworn into office on Monday and become Oklahoma's first female governor. She will take the oath of office at noon during a ceremony on the south steps of the state Capitol.

Other inaugural events include a pre-inaugural ball Saturday night in Jenks and a prayer service Sunday in Oklahoma City. The inaugural ball will be held Monday night at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. See all the inaugural events.
