Bond Reduced For Parents Charged In Fatal Del City RV Fire

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A judge reduced the bond for two parents charged with felony child neglect after their three children died in an RV fire last month in Del City.

Christopher and Stephanie Dunham are charged with three counts of child neglect and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. The couple's three children died in January when the family's RV caught fire.

The couple's bond was originally set at $151,000 but was reduced to $35,000 on Thursday. The couple is now under a 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew and must submit to random drug testing at any time.

"I believe judge bass is a fair and honorable judge," the Dunham's attorney Robert Sisson said.

The District Attorney's Office said they were against the Dunhams getting a reduced bond due to their risk of flight. Prosecutors argued that the Dunhams used their children's donation fund to buy a used truck, a computer and other items. Prosecutors also said the couple had talked of going to Tennessee.

Police said their investigation revealed Stephanie Dunham was not in the motor home when the fire started, and she was high on methamphetamine at the time.

Court records showed Stephanie Dunham said her husband told her to lie to investigators about what really happened the day of the fire.

Christopher Dunham told investigators both he and his wife used methamphetamine, and he also smoked marijuana. Court records also showed investigators found several pipes and scales inside the torched RV that contained meth and marijuana residue.
