OKLAHOMA CITY -- A visiting district judge denied bond for a lifetime convicted sex offender during an unexpected court appearance.

Matthew Mallory was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning.  But in a surprise move, visiting District Judge Paul Woodward of Garfield County had Mallory appear before him Tuesday afternoon.

Mallory was presented with all the charges set before him and the judge denied his bond. The judge asked if Mallory wanted a court appointed attorney and he answered yes.

A hearing to discuss bond has been set for Thursday, April 21, front of District Judge Robert Davis.

Matthew Mallory and his 14-year-old niece went on the run for almost a week before being spotted and captured near San Antonio, Texas. He was extradited back to Kingfisher on Monday.
