NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Norman police have identified a person found dead in Norman Thursday evening, and whose death they say is a homicide.

Police were asked to perform a welfare check Thursday, June 3, at an apartment in the 1200 block of Oakhurst Avenue. When officers arrived, they found 70-year-old Willie Martin deceased.

Police say the circumstances surrounding the death are suspicious and it's being investigated as a homicide. Investigators are looking for the victim's stepson, 50-year-old Robert Johnnie Schantz.  He's considered a person of interest in this case.

Schantz may be driving an orange, four-door Dodge Caliber with an Oklahoma license plate 597-HGP. Anyone who sees the car or knows Schantz's whereabouts should call Norman police at (405) 321-1600.
