NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The Multiple-County Grand Jury has indicted veteran Oklahoma City Police Officer Roland Benavides for involvement in illegal gambling.

The three-count indictment, unsealed by a Cleveland County judge Friday morning, accuses the 44-year-old Benavides of using a computer to violate the Anti-Gambling Act. Specifically, the indictment alleges Benavides used a computer to access an online gambling site, which allowed him to transfer data about bets on sporting events and other games of chance to David Roy Tune.

Tune and C.L. Richards are facing federal charges for illegal gambling operations.

Benavides has pleaded not guilty. His bond was set at $6,000. Benavides has been on administrative leave with pay from the Oklahoma City Police Department.
