PURCELL, Oklahoma -- Accused triple-murderer Shaun Bosse is now back in the McClain County jail, and the Sheriff has ordered an investigation into how he managed to escape for ten hours Sunday.
Sheriff Don Hewett says this is the first escape from his jail in the thirteen years he's been in office. And he thinks Bosse may have had help in getting out.
"We're getting some indication through our interviews that we definitely--that we possibly--think that another inmate did assist in this escape," says Hewett. Hewett believes the other prisoner may have pretended to be ill, so as to lure in the jailer so Bosse could attack him. Bosse overpowered the male jailer, then locked him inside a cell.
The jailer's mother says her son is doing all right. "He's more mentally banged up than he is physically," says Susie Williams-Allen.
According to the sheriff, Bosse overpowered a female jailer, handcuffed her to a door, and then stole her car.
The results of the internal investigation are expected later this week.
