OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says construction work on the Interstate 40 Crosstown bridge in Oklahoma City will affect traffic for the next several weeks.
Eastbound I-40 was narrowed to two lanes starting at 5 a.m. Monday. ODOT says there will be short-term exit ramp closures from eastbound I-40 to I-35 and I-235. Also -- the right lane of I-40 will be an exit-only lane for southbound I-35 and drivers needed to exit onto northbound I-235 must be in the left lane.
The work is expected to continue through mid-September as part of a project to relocate I-40 through Oklahoma City.
The project is expected to be completed during the middle of next year.
