Should people who get food stamps from the government be allowed to use them at fast food restaurants?
It's not surprising the parent company of Taco Bell, KFC, Long John Silver's and Pizza Hut has been quietly lobbying to be certified in the food stamp program.
There's big money in those food stamps. Billions.
But if you want to tick off a taxpayer, put them in a fast food line behind someone loading up on Big Mac's using food stamps.
Most Americans are willing to help someone down on their luck, but a lot of those same Americans helping others aren't eating out right now because they can't afford to themselves.
Terrible timing on this. Right now taxpayers and the food stamp program are being stretched to the limit, how can they even consider allowing that money to be spent less efficiently.
It's a lot cheaper to grocery shop and make your own food than eat out.
Food stamps aren't for a drive thru treat, they're to get by until you're back on your feet.
