OKLAHOMA CITY -- Testimony began this afternoon in the case of three people accused of conspiring to kill an Oklahoma City Police Officer.
Katie Lawson was shot in August while assisting a sheriffs deputy on a call. That deputy took the stand Tuesday afternoon. Officer Lawson has now taken the stand and is explaining what happened the night she was shot several times.
Hector Escalate pled guilty earlier this month to shooting Lawson with a civilian version of an M-16 assault rifle.
He along with his brother, Alex Mercado, and mother, Vilma Escalate, are still facing conspiracy charges.
Lawson was shot in the face legs and body but still was able to return fire.
She survived and was in the courtroom Tuesday.
