McLoud School Board President Ray Stokes says the district is in the process of retesting students of a woman accused of taking pornographic pictures of children. They want to determine if the children are behind in their studies.
Shawnee Police arrested McLoud Elementary School teacher Kimberly Crain on December 1. She's accused of taking pictures of young female students dressed in lingerie. Police say the third-grade teacher also encouraged students to Skype with a strange man only known as "Uncle G."
Crain is in jail on a $1 million bond.
The school board will meet for its regular meeting Thursday night. Stokes says a statement will be made at the board meeting to address the alleged incidents that took place in Crain's class and at her home. Parents will also have a chance to speak during the public comment section of the meeting.
The school board will also discuss and vote to hire a teacher to replace Crain. Stokes says the person currently in that position is certified and has been acting as a substitute since Crain resigned. He says the teacher already has a rapport with the students and the board does not want to bring in a new face the students do not know.
