Fried Green Beans with Fry Dipping Sauce
Ingredients:
canola oil for frying
1 cup all purpose flour
1 -cup yellow cornmeal
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper
1 teaspoon Cajun spice blend
1 pound fresh green beans, ends cut off
1 cup buttermilk
Directions:
In a large Dutch oven or fryer, pour oil in till it is about 3 inches deep. Heat till oil reaches 375 degrees (perfect for frying). In a medium bowl combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, black pepper and Cajun spice blend. Dip green beans in buttermilk then dredge in flour mixture to coat. For a crunchier batter double dip each bean.
Fry beans in small batches, until golden brown and crisp. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with my Fry Sauce!
Fry Sauce
Ingredients:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
Directions:
In a medium sized bowl combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, garlic salt, and Tabasco.
