Investigators Follow Leads In Grady County Homicide Case

Police in Grady County are still searching for clues in a suspicious death of a man found on his parent's property in Chickasha.

Officers found 31-year-old Danny Ray Franklin's body Monday under a pile of leaves near a barn at his parent's home. They believe the body had been carried there.

Tips are pouring in Tuesday after Franklin was found dead in Grady County. Investigators said they are following those leads, but the Sheriff's Department told News 9 despite all the tips they have received, they are not releasing any names of the suspects, or persons of interest.

More than a day after they found their son dead in a field, there is still crime scene tape up at the Franklin family property. Right now, both the family and the Sheriff's office are releasing few details.

"We were told by the father that there was a gun missing in the office," Sheriff Art Kell said.

Investigators are still checking that story out. The sheriff said they also found blood leading to a nearby barn, and believe that was where Franklin was killed.

We checked court documents, Franklin was arrested back in 2004 for drugs, and in 2009, for domestic abuse. But the sheriff said Franklin has not been in any recent trouble.

Right now, authorities have not released a name of a suspect. But they said that could come soon.
