An Oklahoma County judge sentenced Friday morning one of three men accused of beating and paralyzing Oklahoma City police officer Chad Peery.
Cadmio Lopez was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with 15 years of the sentence suspended. Lopez pleaded guilty in December to assault and battery with force likely to cause death. Prosecutors said Lopez, 31, Joshua Rinken, 28, and Jimmy Smith, 28, attacked Peery in February 2011 at Dan O'Brien's Public House in Oklahoma City.

Peery was off-duty when bar employees asked him to eject the three men because they'd become unruly. Prosecutors said the men severely beat Peery, breaking his neck and leaving him paralyzed.
Rinken and Smith are scheduled to go on trial February 13.
