Putnam City North soccer is taking on Norman High at 8 p.m. Friday. But the players are not wearing their traditional jerseys. They're raising awareness and supporting a classmate who has cancer.
The school colors are cardinal red and gold and sometimes black, but when the guys take the field, they'll be wearing green jerseys for Lorelei Decker.
She's one very special and inspiring senior here.
"She's always been there for us when we've needed her, she enjoys to watch soccer, so we thought it'd be a good idea to have a game to raise some money to help with some costs," soccer player, Jared Deimund said.
Jared Deimund and his teammates picked up their jerseys from Coach Pecore's classroom, ready to cheer on their favorite senior girl Lorelei Decker.
"She's a really great spirit, really happy through all of this," he said.
Lorelei Decker is truly inspiring.
We met her at home just one day after a chemo treatment, she has Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
"The day after chemo is tough, feels like your body is full of lead, it's hard to get out of bed in the morning," Decker said.
Yet, Decker was up, ready and insisting on thanking the boys' soccer team for their support.
"When you see a group of teenage boys being so selfless and driven, it's overwhelming to be a part of that," Lorelei said. "I feel really blessed."

Back at school, the boys' coach couldn't be prouder of Lorelei and his boys and even the opposing team. Norman High is helping to raise awareness, and agreed to wear white for Friday nights game.
"All you hear is the bad news, it truly paints a picture that there's a problem with our kids, it's not," Coach Pecore said. "This is an example them sharing their love for their team and for another student and that's what so beautiful about it."
Decker told her mom she will be at the game if they have to wheel her there Friday night.
But the team and the coach understand and love her no matter what and they'll hold on to this jersey and her moms until she feels better.
