The risk for severe weather is high for the next two days here in Oklahoma, so the News 9 Weather Team is urging people in the metro and across the state to prepare.

Friday afternoon, a dry-line in western Oklahoma will be the focal point for thunderstorms to develop and likely become severe later in the afternoon. The risk for severe weather will include threats for baseball size hail, damaging wind gusts, and tornadoes.

This threat includes the Oklahoma City metro, and the timing looks most likely from 2 p.m. through the evening and into the night.

Saturday's severe risk is more significant as the upper level storm system finally moves into Oklahoma. The timing looks similar to Friday and may last well into the overnight period Saturday into Sunday. Threats for Saturday will include hail to the size of softballs, wind gusts to 80mph, and several tornadoes.
