Judge Allows State's Witness To Testify In Trial Against OSU's Darrell Williams

A hearing took place in Payne County District Court Thursday for a suspended Oklahoma State basketball player accused of inappropriately touching two female students at an off-campus party.

Thursday's hearing for Darrell Williams was to determine whether the testimony of an expert witness will be admitted at his trial, which is scheduled to begin Monday.

Williams was bound over for trial in April 2011 on one count of sexual battery and four felony counts of rape by instrumentation.

Williams did not appear in court Thursday as he was excused but was represented by his attorney's Cheryl Ramsey and William Baker.

The court ruled that it will allow the state to call the proposed witnesses in their motion. The jury trial date will begin Monday, May 7 at 9 a.m.

Two women claim the 22-year-old Williams reached into their pants against their will during a party in December 2010.

Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford suspended Williams indefinitely after the player was charged Feb. 7, 2011. He was averaging 7.1 points and 7.3 rebounds in his first season at Oklahoma State.

Williams has pleaded not guilty.
