A 16 year old was gunned down at a northwest Oklahoma City apartment complex, Thursday night. While police try to find the shooter, neighbors are left wondering if this was a case of gang retaliation.
The 16-year-old victim had his share of run-ins with the law, including several felony arrests. And friends told News 9 off camera he was involved in gangs. But his death has friends and neighbors wondering who could be responsible.
It was just before 10 p.m. Thursday that police found 16-year-old Khaleeq Landon lying in the parking lot at the Windsor Village Apartments located at NW 24th and Ann Arbor. He later died at a local hospital.
"It happened right here, pretty much where we are standing at," said Eight Awadalla, who was nearby when the shooting took place.

Awadalla was visiting a friend here at the apartments when it happened.
"When things got down they had the block taped off. They had everything going on," said Awadalla.
Awadalla says he did not know Khaleeq, but says he has several friends who live at the apartment complex. Awadalla says Khaleeq was visiting a former girlfriend when he was shot.
"I believe the young man came down the stairs, he turned around and was shot as he was coming out of the apartments over here," said a police investigator.
A picture found on Facebook shows Khaleeq throwing up gang signs, but police will not confirm if he was indeed a gang member, even though close friends say he was. Despite that, friends and strangers alike are horrified the 16 year old was killed.
"When a child that young is murdered you know, it kind of affects everybody," said a neighbor.
At this hour, police are still looking for the gunman. If you have any information call Homicide Tip Line (405) 297-1200. Callers can remain anonymous, and may be eligible for a cash reward.
