Morales' mother says there's no reason her son had to die.
Police say Morales was shot and killed in the 1100 block of N.W. 105th Street late Sunday night.
Family and friends staged a car wash Tuesday to raise money to help cover funeral costs.
While police don't have any suspects in custody, Morales' mother, Karen, remains optimistic the person responsible will be caught.
"I think they are doing the best they can do from the information they are getting from people," she said.
