A Vietnam veteran from Bridgeport, dying of terminal cancer, says he still has one more thing to do.
His family says 63-year-old Dennis Hall has less than a year to live, after doctors discovered a large cancerous tumor in his head. Hall says chemicals he was exposed to during the Vietnam War may have contributed to his condition. However, he says he'd do it again.
But before he passes on, Hall and his daughter plan a pilgrimage to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. at the end of this month.
Hall wants to see the names of the men he knew who died in the war. And to help pay for the trip, Hall's family and friends will host a garage sale and a bake sale this Friday and Saturday at Bridgeport's Community Building.
"I think [my life will be complete]. I mean I fulfilled my dream. It's been a dream of mine for a long time," Hall said.
The garage and bake sale runs Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Response has been so overwhelming to help Dennis Hall that his family has set up a fund you can donate to. Send your donations to:
Dennis Hall Medical Fund - First National Bank P.O. Box 981 Hinton, OK 73047
Any money not used for the trip to Washington D.C. will go to help Hall's continuing fight against terminal cancer.
