On August 31, police received a 911 call around 3:30 a.m. about a burglary in the 9000 block of Winston Way near S.W. 89th Street and Western. The family told officers people broke into the house, stabbed 47-year-old father Arthur Strozewski several times, and tied up his 14-year-old son. Strozewski's 16-year-old daughter was able to hide in a closet and call police.

Paramedics rushed Strozewski to OU Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

Police arrested 34-year-old suspect Eddie Thompson a block away from the crime. He was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on a complaint of first-degree murder.
