Police say a parent of a student called police Thursday night. The parent said her daughter told her of a plot to shoot and kill students at a school-wide assembly at the high school scheduled for next Friday.
The student told her mother she had heard other students talking about it not only in the lunch room, but also in class.
Police spent all day Friday checking it out.
"We're on top of it, we have entire divisions in our department looking over the situation," said Sergeant Dustin Albright. "We take these things seriously."
Police say school officials also had information about similar threats during the assembly next Friday.
