Firefighters Put Out Grass Fire Burning Near Home In McLoud

Firefighters have put out a grass fire that burned dangerously close to a house in a rural area of McLoud.

Fire crews were called to 35701 Hazel Dell Road, between S. Range Road and Highway 177, around 9:45 a.m. Thursday.

The small fire burned some brush and trees, and the flames also crept within a few feet of a house. Fortunately, firefighters quickly extinguished the flames. It's not known how the fire started.
