Oklahoma City Police are searching for a man who walked into a self-storage facility and forced a worker to hand over cash.

The man entered Secure Care Storage at 5110 N.W. 10th Street on January 23. At first, he chatted with the employee sitting in the front office. He asked her what time the business closed, and if he could use the phone.

The employee said the man told her he was locked out of his nearby nutrition business and needed money to get gas for his truck. When the woman refused to give him any money, the man said "Give it to me, or I will take it."

The woman told police although she didn't see a weapon, she feared the man might hurt her. She gave the man an unknown amount of money, and he left in an older model, dark turquoise Chevrolet pickup.

The worker describes the suspect as a thin, white male, approximately 6 feet tall and in his late 40s or early 50s. He was wearing blue jeans and a gray sweatshirt.

Police have released video from a security camera in the storage facility. They're hoping someone will look at the video and recognize the suspect. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300.
