Canadian County deputies arrest an Oklahoma City man after he allegedly tried to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex near Yukon.
Arthur Been Junior, 38, was arrested on Monday, March 11 just before noon after he responded to an online ad posted on Craigslist. The ad was posted by an undercover Canadian County Sheriff's deputy posing as a 14-year-old girl.
Been arrived at S.W.15th and Mustang Road in Yukon where investigators say he was to meet the girl for sex. But instead, Been was met by undercover deputies and taken into custody.
Investigators say Been admitted to them that he knew what he was doing was wrong, but still established a time and place to meet the fictitious 14-year-old. Been even sent a text message that read, "I would like to meet you. I have never had a younger girl for a girlfriend so let's see what happens," according to an arrest report.
"This is just another example of why parents need to protect their children, and oversee not only their texting practices, but monitor any computer use as well," said Randall Edwards, Canadian County Sheriff.
Been was booked into the Canadian County Jail, and charged with facilitating, encouraging, offering and/or soliciting sexual conduct with a minor and possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $101,000.
Been was convicted of multiple felonies in 2007 including assault, battery or assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and obstructing an officer.
