Police have released the name of the police officer who shot and killed a suspect who held a little girl at knifepoint in the middle of a Midwest City store.
Police say on Monday, June 17, Sammie Lamont Wallace, 37, walked into the Walmart Neighborhood Market at Reno and Midwest Boulevard, snatched a 2-year-old girl from her mother's shopping cart and took her hostage.

According to an affidavit for a search warrant, Wallace began speaking about the Illuminati, a satanic cult, while holding the girl and pointing at knife at her. Police say they quickly did some research and learned June 21 is a day of human sacrifice for the Illuminati.
Police say they tried to negotiate with Wallace, but when he made threatening moves toward they child, they had to respond with deadly force.
Police say Capt. David Huff shot and killed Wallace to prevent him from hurting the toddler. Capt. Huff is a 22-year veteran and has been with the Midwest City Police Department since January 1991.
The girl who was held hostage has not been identified.
Police say the investigation is ongoing. Detectives have searched Wallace's home at the Parkview Apartments at 2701 Turley Drive. Wallace had lived in the apartment since January. During the search, police seized an OG&E bill, a bank statement and a notebook filled with religious writings.
