It's hard for Renee Sams to acknowledge that her daughter Tiffany is gone. She had talked to her just hours before she was brutally attacked and killed.
"I called her about how she was doing and she said ‘great, I love you too,'" Renee Sams said.
Brown is accused of attacking and killing 21-year-old Tiffany Sams outside an apartment complex in the 800 block of S.W. 56th. Court papers filed Monday state Brown tackled her, beat her with his fists and bricks, and then stomped on her head before running away from the scene.
Tiffany died at a local hospital. Her family chose to donate her organs as a way to honor her. But while a piece of Tiffany will live on, her mother is still distraught that she can't afford to give her a proper burial.
A funeral fund is in the process of being established at Chase Bank. Donations should be able to be accepted there starting Tuesday.
Brown was listed as a violent offender and was out on probation. He is being held without bond.
