A fire swept across a southeast Oklahoma City property early Tuesday morning, destroying vehicles, an outbuilding, and 40 hay bales.
The fire started just after midnight in the 7800 block of Wister Lane, which is just south of Interstate 240. Someone called 911 and firefighters arrived within minutes to begin battling the flames.
Neighbors reported hearing explosions at one point, but fire crews say that was likely the tires popping when a truck or tractor caught fire.
It took crews several hours to put out the fire, and crews stayed at the scene until around 7 a.m. to monitor hot spots. They say they did face some challenges because of the lack of fire hydrants in the area. Crews had to truck in water from other areas.
No one was hurt in the fire. It's not known yet how it started.
