The Oklahoma City Public School District has suspended a Capitol Hill High School teacher after a student accused that person of rape.
Police were called to the school Thursday, Dec. 5, to take a rape report. A juvenile reported they had been sexually assaulted by the teacher about a month ago at a location near SW 15th St. and Robinson, which is about two miles north of the school.
Because of the serious allegations, the teacher was immediately removed from the classroom and suspended. The teacher's name has not been released because and that person has not been arrested. An arrest warrant has not been issued either.
Interim Superintendent Dave Lopez issued a statement, saying the district's "primary concern is the safety and well-being of students at Capitol Hill."
Police are still investigating the case, but say they are trying to gather more evidence before making an arrest.
