Firefighters are battling a house fire in northwest Oklahoma City.

OKCFD were called to a home in the 1600 block of N.W. 7th Street Thursday morning after neighbors reported a fire in the backyard. This is in an area between N.W. 10th Street and Penn near St. Anthony's hospital downtown.

The fire is believed to have started in the trash and spread to the home, car and boat. Fire officials says the strong winds are making it difficult to fight this fire.

Firefighters are using ladder trucks to attack and get a handle of this fire. Firefighters on scene say that boat, car and other car parts including tires are fueling the fire, making it difficult to put out. Hazmat has been called to the scene.

Despite the high wind, firefighters have kept the fire from spreading to any other homes or structures. A woman and man who lived in the house were able to get out just in time without serious injuries.
