Lawton police shot and killed one man after they said he answered the door with a gun in his hand.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred in the 4100 block of S.W. Park Ridge Rd.

According to the Lawton Police Department, officers heard a loud commotion and yelling coming from inside a home, while they were responding to a vandalism call early Sunday morning.

The police release stated two officers knocked on the door, and a voice from inside of the residence told them to come in. The officers attempted to enter the home, but the door was locked. A man then opened the door and stepped outside. Once outside, a third officer heard one of the two officers at the door yell, "gun." Shots were fired, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

As stated in the police release, the names of the deceased and the officers involved have not been released. The two officers are on administrative leave pending OSBI's investigation.
