OKC Energy FC dropped its first decision of the season, 4-2, at the Los Angeles Galaxy II Monday evening at the StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium. Energy FC moves to 1-1-0 on the year.
Peabo Doue put Energy FC up 1-0 in the eighth minute when he put home a cross pass from Kyle Greig for his first goal of the season. The lead didn't last long as Laurent Courtois evened the score in the 14th minute at 1-1.
The Galaxy took a 2-1 lead in the 35th minute on a goal from Chandler Hoffman and extended that lead to 3-1 in the 39th minute on a goal from Daniel Steres. Los Angeles led 3-1 at the half and out-shot Energy FC 6-3.
Energy FC cut the lead to one in the 59th minute as Pete Caringi scored his first goal of the season. Despite offensive pressure from Energy FC, Galaxy's Aleksander Dokovic added an insurance goal in stoppage time to secure the 4-2 win.
Galaxy out-shot Energy FC 15-13 for the game and also led in shots on goal, 8-3. Energy FC had eight corner kicks on the night and the team's combined for three yellow cards.
Energy FC returns to action Saturday, April 12, at the Arizona United. Game time is set for 9:10 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the game via YouTube Live or listen locally on 96.1 FM KXY.
