Pontotoc County Detention Officer Arrested For Rape Of Female Inmate

A Pontotoc County Detention Officer was arrested Thursday for rape of a female inmate.

Kevin Clark, a Detention Officer at the Pontotoc County Justice Center was arrested for Forcible Sodomy and two counts of Rape by Instrumentation of a female inmate.

Pontotoc County Sheriff John Christian said a female inmate made allegations of sexual misconduct against Clark on Monday and a Deputy was assigned to take a statement. The inmate alleged that Clark let her out of her cell and cornered her on several occasions. Surveillance video viewed by the Sheriff backed her statement.

Sheriff Christian ordered an investigation by the District Attorney's Office. Investigator Heath Miller of the Pontotoc County District Attorney's Office conducted the investigation and determined that Probable Cause existed to arrest Clark for the above charges.

Clark was booked into the Pontotoc County Justice Center on a $100,000.00 bond. Clark posted bond and was released late Thursday evening.
