Private Investigators Track Down Witness In Missing Persons Case

Private investigators say they have made progress in the case of two missing people out of the Wilson area. Molly Miller and Colt Haynes were last seen in early July 2013, but recently a witness has come forward with information.

"I think it's a big step in the case but I will repeat again, it is just another piece of the puzzle," said Phil Klein, of Klein Investigations based in Texas.

Klein and his team of private investigators became involved with the search for Molly Miller and Colt Haynes after Miller's family hired his firm. Klein said a witness decided to talk, telling the team they had "a weapon involved in the Miller case" that was given to them by a "family member of James ‘Conn' Nipp.'"

According to Klein the witness said that family member gave them a "9mm semi-automatic pistol" and a "machete" in August 2013 to hold until Love County authorities retrieved it. According to Klein the weapons had a "dried substance that resembles dried blood."

"This one witness that gave us the weapons is not the only witness. We have developed six or seven other witnesses that gave good testimony."

Cell data shows Miller and Haynes phones were inside the car driven by James "Conn" Nipp the night he allegedly took police on a high-speed chase. Nipp is in jail, charged for that chase. The two other were never found.

"My belief, my percentage that molly miller and colt are alive is about 10%. My belief that they're deceased is 90%," said Klein.

A close friend of Haynes released this statement on behalf of his family, "With the recent release form Klein Investigation it has been a rather hard time for us but we are glad for his assistance and the evidence that has been discovered. We are past ready to have Colt and Molly home and it looks like we are heading in the right direction to do so."

Klein stressed that more people out there have information about what happened to Molly Miller and Colt Haynes but have not yet decided to come forward.

"Some of these witnesses are scared. They're scared of law enforcement in Love County, they're scared of being threatened with their life," said Klein.
