OKC Energy FC has signed midfielder Dan Delgado to a contract, general manager Jason Hawkins announced today.
Delgado, a 5-11, 175-pounder played four seasons at the University of San Diego. He was drafted by the San Jose Earthquakes (MLS) in the 2nd round (33rd overall) in the 2013 MLS Superdraft.
During his senior season he scored nine goals and registered 10 assists on his way to the West Coast Conference first team and NCSAA All Region Team honors. He led the Toreros to just their second NCAA quarterfinals appearance in school history, scoring a goal and three assists in four tournament games.
He finished his collegiate career with 15 goals and 23 assists in 72 games. His 23 assists is good for 5th on the USD all-time assists list.
He began this season with the Ventura County Fusion (PDL).
Delgado is expected in the lineup as Energy FC takes on Sacramento Republic FC Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at Pribil Stadium.
