Oklahoma City Police say they received a 911 call about shots being fired at the Villas at Stone Lake apartments in the 7800 block of Lyrewood Lane at 8:40 a.m. When they arrived they found two men had been shot inside their truck in the parking lot.
People living in the area woke up to yellow tape surrounding the complex and police cars everywhere. News of the shooting came as a shock to some, but not to others.
“This happens everywhere, not much you can do,” said Linda Igo, who lives in the apartment complex right next door. “We're gonna move, but not on account of this.”
Those who live in the apartment complex across the street say they are used to seeing police cars cruising the area, but they never know what for.
“Well I tell ya, we hear a lot of noises around here and whether they are fire crackers or gunshots, every time you hear a noise like that you just want to duck your head,” said Terry Hansen.

Hansen has lived out here the past three years.
“I would say it started out not so bad but I think it’s getting worse.”
Now, Hansen just wants to know who shot the two men in the parking lot and why.
“It does. It makes me think that there's probably drug trafficking going on around here, and I think it was probably drug related,” he said.
For now, police are not releasing the names of the men who were killed. But they tell News 9 they have been called out here to this area more than 200 times in the past six months alone.
And police say right now they do not have a good suspect description to go on and they could really use the public's help.
