Oklahoma City police arrested a man and woman, accused of abusing their 6-month-old baby girl.

That little girl is recovering at children's hospital and is expected to live. Her parents were taken in for questioning and then walked over to the county jail where they were booked in Tuesday morning.

OKC Police say they were originally called out to Integris Southwest Medical Center on another call, when doctors approached them about the little girl who was brought in just before midnight Monday.

Police say the little girl, who is a twin, was brought in by her parents, 26-year-old Jennifer Martin and 22-year-old Allen Englehorn, and that she "had bruising on the chin and across the face" and also had bruising on her stomach and arms.

A CT scan also revealed the baby girl had bleeding on the brain; all signs the doctor said are consistent with child abuse.

Police questioned both Martin and Englehorn, who were at the hospital with their other two children. Both stated they put the twins in their crib and were in the living room watching TV when they heard the girl twin screaming and crying. The father told police he rushed to check on her, and that she went limp in his arms.

A Facebook photo of that little girl, her twin brother, and 1-year-old sister was posted back in February by Jennifer Martin, a month after the twins were born. Martin's Facebook posts are all about how she loves being a mom. But now that mother and the twins' father are in jail accused of abusing her.

"Based off of what our officers found, what the doctors found, the injuries to the child - the story was not consistent with this child's injuries," said Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow, with the Oklahoma City Police Department. "And ultimately it was decided that they would be arrested."

The baby girl was rushed to Children's Hospital and police say her brother and sister have been placed in the care of a relative.

News 9 talked with a friend who worked with Martin but who did not want to be identified. She says they had lived with her about a month, and she had never seen any signs of abuse on any of the children from either parent - and that they loved their children very much.
