Oklahoma City's SkyDance Bridge will temporarily close from Wednesday through Friday this week as crews make repairs to the bridge deck.

The 380-foot-long, 197- foot-tall landmark sculpture spans Interstate 40 near Robinson Avenue.

City crews were doing routine inspections and discovered a large bump. The wood buckled because there wasn't enough room left for expansion.

The city does not have a dollar estimate yet on repairs, but officials said they are only going to repair the particular part of the bridge with the bump, and will get to other problem areas as they arise.

The bridge's architecture was inspired by Oklahoma's state bird, the scissor-tailed flycatcher. It is located at the heart of the future MAPS 3 downtown park.
