A mother of five was stabbed in front of her children early Wednesday morning, and Oklahoma City police said one child shot the suspect.
The violence erupted around 4:30 a.m. at a mobile home park near S.E. 89th and Bryant Avenue. Police said they received a 9-1-1 call from a child saying his mother had been stabbed.
When officers got to the scene, they found a man, later identified as 25-year-old Leonard Henry, in the street. He was suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to police, Henry broke into the home and stabbed the woman. He is believed to be the woman's ex-boyfriend, and police said the woman had a personal protection order against Henry.
Five children witnessed the violence against their mother. Police believe one of the children grabbed a gun and shot Henry as he tried to run off.
We are told both Henry and the stabbing victim were taken to the hospital. It's unclear how serious their conditions are. The woman suffered stab wounds to her neck face and chest, according to police.
None of the children were injured during the incident.
