A four by four foot hole opened on the Highway 412 bridge at Highway 151 Tuesday morning. Troopers said the hole with exposed steel reinforcing bars caused several flat tires on vehicles which struck the hole as they headed west at about 6:30 a.m.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation closed the outside lane of westbound Highway 412 to make repairs. ODOT has patched the hole, and they hope it will be dry by rush hour.

Highway 151, which goes over the Keystone Dam, is currently closed because of construction work.
ODOT spokesperson Martin Stewart says workers hope to have the hole repaired by Tuesday afternoon. He says they will need to cut around the hole, put in reinforcement and then patch the hole, before reopening the lane to traffic.
Stewart says the bridge was built in 1963 and is scheduled for replacement in 2017. He says the bridge is listed as structurally deficient.
