Oklahoma City fire crews spent much of Sunday night and Monday morning on several house fires as the high winds made the flames more intense.

Just after 10 p.m. Sunday, a mobile home in the Overholser Village on the 1300 block of Regatta Drive caught fire. No one lived in the home. The cause of the fire is still being investigated. Fire fighters said high winds quickly caused problems.

Around 1 a.m., Oklahoma City fire crews said a fire started on the back porch of a home in the 1900 block of N.W. 173rd St. No one was hurt, but the high winds fueled the flames, which caused $75,000 in damage.

At 2:30 a.m. Fire crews rushed to another home on the northwest side, this time on Somerset Place. According to fire fighters, the wind knocked some sparking electrical lines to leaves on the ground. The fire spread to the home.

One person inside the home at the time of the fire was not hurt.

The only fire where wind was not an issue for fire fighters was around 5:45 a.m. at the Woodward Manor apartments on N.W. 12th Street. Eight people were forced out of their units. Fire damage was contained to one apartment on the second floor, while water damaged units on the first floor.

No one was hurt and fire crews are working to learn a cause.
