Inmate Escapes From Oklahoma Prison In McAlester

Authorities are looking for an escapee from a minimum security prison in McAlester. 

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections says Robert L. Long, 28, was reported missing Tuesday from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center during a 10 p.m. head count. 

Comanche County court records show Long was charged December 5, 2014 with first-degree murder in connection with a March 2014 homicide investigated by Lawton Police.

Prison records show Long who had only been in prison since October 2014 was serving time for several convictions, including possession of a controlled and dangerous substance and possession of a firearm out of Comanche County. 

Long was set to be released in 2023.
