The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department (OCSD) said it is investigating a scam this weekend.

Sheriff's deputies warned residents Saturday of someone posing as an Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office employee and telling victims they have an outstanding warrant. Authorities said the suspect also tells victims they need to purchase a ‘Green Dot Card' and load the card with cash. The information to get the cash is given to the scammer who drains the card's money.

The OCSD told residents it does not collect costs related to criminal cases. Authorities then offered valid information about where payments are accepted in the county and how to determine if you have a warrant.
