Three suspects in a police pursuit that ended in a crash are now on the run. The Canadian County Sheriff's Department and Piedmont Police Department are involved in the chase. The crash occurred near N. Piedmont Road and N. 2950 Tuesday afternoon in a wooded area.
The car involved in the pursuit and crash has been cleared and authorities continue to search for the suspects. Piedmont police said three people were in the car; one male, one female and another person.
Officers were originally called out to a home burglary at 2618 Apache N.W. in Piedmont. Investigators said the suspects took several guns from the home.
When police arrived at the home, they located the suspects and that is when the chase began. Authorities said the vehicle stopped during the chase at Piedmont Road and two of the suspects got out of the vehicle and the third drove off.
Law enforcement K9 units are on the scene. The vehicle apparently crashed into hay bales.
