Family members found a Jackson County man who apparently drown while clearing foliage from a pond. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports William Douglas Wright was found at around 6:40 p.m. Friday.

Troopers say a neighbor last saw Wright at about 5 p.m. clearing the pond behind a home in the 100 block of Summit Avenue in Elmer. When relatives got home, they found the victim's shop open, but he wasn't there, according to the drowning report.

They saw the mower and trailer near the pond and found the 63-year-old Wright in about 3 feet of water, troopers say.

His body was taken to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office in Oklahoma City.
