Oklahoma City police arrested an Oklahoma City mother and her boyfriend Wednesday night, after her 10-month-old baby girl is treated for a drug overdose.

Police got a tip the boyfriend gave the baby K2.

Police responded to a call from paramedic crews who arrived on the scene of a home in the 3000 block of SW 40th St. after getting a 911 call.

Inside, they found an unresponsive 10-month-old baby girl and both her mother and boyfriend who appeared to be under the influence.

Officers reported that 18-year-old Mary Warden and 21-year-old Jori Franklin kept drifting off during their interviews, and that Franklin kept falling asleep.

“They seemed like really nice people. You wouldn't think that would happen there,” said a neighbor.

On the outside, the home where they lived appears to be well kept. But inside, police reported a very different story. There were animal droppings all over the floor and pizza crust in the playpen.

Those who live near the home were shocked when they heard news of the arrest and overdose.

The police report stated the doctor treating the baby at the ER had received a call from someone who said Franklin told them he had been prostituting out Warden, and had given the baby K2 to get rid of it.

The medical staff diagnosed the 10-month-old baby girl as having an altered mental status, hypothermia, and a probable drug overdose. She was placed in a warming bed, put on a ventilator, and given Narcan to help counter the drugs in her system.

“The child is now in protective custody is still in the hospital recovering, but is expected to make a full recovery,” said Msgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department.
