OHP: Trooper Involved In Crash Near Frederick

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirms a trooper was involved in a crash in Tillman County Thursday evening.

The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, as Oklahoma Highway Trooper Gary Sanders was initiating a traffic stop and writing the violator a warning, another vehicle rear-ended Sanders' car. His car was then pushed forward, slamming into the traffic violator's car.

Trooper Sanders was airlifted to Wichita Falls in stable condition. He now awaits to be transferred to a hospital in Ft. Worth.

The extent of Sanders' injuries has not been released.

The crash is still under investigation.
