Police: Man Jumps Off I-35 Bridge After Stabbing Woman

A man jumped into the Oklahoma River after stabbing a woman on the interstate junction of Interstate 35 and Interstate 40, Oklahoma City police reported.

Officers are on the scene in the northbound lanes of I-35, just south of the I-40 exit.

According to police, the suspect and victim were driving north on I-35 when an altercation broke out. During that altercation the suspect began stabbing the victim, then pulled over and continued stabbing her as she lay on the ground on the side of the road.

Witnesses told police that they saw the incident unfold. When officers arrived, the man jumped off the I-35 bridge into the Oklahoma River.

After a short search the man was found. Both he and the victim were transported to a local hospital in unknown condition. Neither has been identified at this time.

Crime scene investigators are on the scene and have shut down the I-40 exit ramp. The ramp is expected to be closed for several hours.
