Vehicle Found Submerged In Canadian River Between Wanette, Byars

Deputies from both McClain and Pottawatomie County responded to reports of a vehicle submerged in the Canadian River.

Authorities were called out to the scene at the Wanette-Byars Bridge located on State Highway 102 over the river, after a passerby spotted the vehicle around 4 p.m.

OHP divers entered the water around 7 p.m. and had a tractor pull out the vehicle. Authorities determined there was no one inside.

It is unclear how the vehicle ended up in the river at this time.
