According to Census data, the town of Blue has only about 200 people living inside the city limits. A tornado touched down in Blue around 3 p.m. Monday.
When first responders arrived at a trailer home, they found the home destroyed and Swinney's body inside.
Swinney's brother said she moved to Blue a couple months ago and just celebrated a birthday. He said he saw the tornado but it was too late for him to get to his sister.
Swinney leaves behind two children.
Throughout Blue, dozens of trees are uprooted, some thrown through homes. Other houses have roofs ripped off. Over in western Bryan County, the fire department said a mother and two daughters were rescued after they drove into high water.
Officials remind residents to not drive around barricades that are there for your safety.
